What is hypnotherapy?

It might be helpful for me to point out what Hypnotherapy is not, as from my observation I noticed it's easier to understand when looked at from this perspective. In hypnotherapy, you do not talk for hours about your problems, and I listen while you talk about unpleasant memories sessions after sessions. Hypnotherapy involves methods that help you neutralize a part of your puzzle, an unconscious emotional component that does not serve you well, but instead makes you act in a particular way you dislike. Once this component has been neutralized and you gain new perception, you will find yourself feeling different… you are changing. The purpose of hypnotherapy is to treat one specific issue at a time. Identifying your current problems and discovering what will benefit your life the most if they are gone, resolved, or changed is crucial. When this one issue is resolved, it usually affects many areas of the person's life and makes improvements all around. Occasionally, you might want to schedule another set of sessions to work on different, unrelated issue.

Psychotherapy vs Hypnotherapy

 

The difference between those two therapies is the level of mind the work is done. It is difficult to change something on one level of consciousness if it's hold on another level of consciousness. Whatever has been created on

emotional level rather than on rational level needs to be met on the same level to change it.

Psychotherapy works with conscious mind, that's why there is many hours needed to achieve any progress and sometimes it doesn't help at all. The job of Psychologist also is to diagnose you, in other words to find what is wrong with you and give it a name. They need to know exactly what to say and have an answer for everything. Hypnotherapists believe  that our clients have the answers within and we are only taking the clients through the processes, creating environment so they can find those answers. Hypnotherapy works on your subconscious level, the level where all emotions, believes and old patterns have been established and stored. Because under Hypnosis we can access that level, Hypnotherapy allows you to gain new insides of any event that created negative emotion, getting new perceptions of events, so you can form new believe. When new believe is created your behaviour automatically changes regardless to your believe. This is how simple that is. 

How does it work?

Our very first session will be spent discussing what exactly you would like to work on, as Hypnotherapy is focused on resolving specific issues rather than looking at the big picture. If you aren't certain what it is, don't worry, with my assistance you will discover what negatively impacts your life the most.
As soon as we have established that, I will not work with your story, but with your feelings, emotions, and physical sensations so we don't have to talk about all the things that you may find difficult to discuss. We will then determine where those feelings and emotions are coming from and address them. Since all feelings and emotions are stored at the subconscious level, I will put you under hypnosis to work on your subconscious. When you are hypnotized, you are extremely relaxed, comfortable and safe yet still aware of the world around you. Despite the fact that we may have to discuss unpleasant events in your past, I will use the techniques and processes in a safe manner. The more sessions you have, the lighter you feel and clearer and more understanding you become. Things will begin to make sense... As a result, you can release everything you've been holding on to for weeks, months, or even years. Seeing events from a different perspective will enable you to change the way you feel and experience life NOW... today... At present...

Can I guarantee the results?

Like in any therapy I cannot guarantee you will resolve or fix your issue. Lets get this right, Hypnotherapists, Counsellors, Psychotherapists and even medical practitioners cannot guarantee any outcome. No one can guarantee how your mind works in relation to hypnosis. Results gained in hypnosis are purely subjective, in other words are you willing and truly wants to make a change, do you believe that making change is possible, if your answer is yes then you are already halfway to obtaining your goal using hypnosis. And the outcome depends on few factors. We are human, we are complicated and we are taking things on differently. There are some obstacles that can make the process harder to work...  

 Are you really ready to do the work...? 

Several people say they wish to change or they wish to see the change, but when it comes to taking action, they aren't yet ready....  Once you start the process you won't find time to complete it, finding excuses - you don't have any time, you won't reschedule other things or put them on hold. The two most common reasons are: you haven't suffered enough, or the change isn't important enough to you. In this case, if you are not treating the sessions as a priority for your well-being, you are simply not ready, so no - it won't work...

 

Are you really ready to open yourself to feel those unpleasant feelings you don't want to feel...?

 

As part of the process, we need to access those moments in the past that led up to ''today's'' issue. You must be prepared to deal with it and let it go. It is done in a very safe way, under the hypnotic state, you are able to let all those negative feelings go, and that will leave you feeling lighter and free-er. You will remain in this state for a while as those emotions are coming from your unconscious, which you are not able to access without hypnosis. You can try to cry out all your emotions for months, or you can undergo a Hypnotherapy session and let them out faster and on a deeper level. Yes, it won't work in this situation if you're not ready for it...

Are you trusting and believing in Hypnotherapy...? 

 

When you consider that hypnosis is for weak people, that your mind is too strong for being hypnotised, you're wasting your time.... and mine (reminder – every person with average intelligence is able to go under hypnosis). There will be nothing to work on since you won't be able to access your emotions. I am not your rival trying to take you down, I am your guide helping you get the life you want. It is important that you be honest with yourself. If you are interested in this therapy but have doubts, tell me about them, so that we can firstly work on changing your ideas about Hypnotherapy, and further you can achieve your goal.. So yes, trusting it is the key to making it work... 

 

Are you really committed...?

 

Each problem is different; some are more complicated than others. Getting to the core of the problem with some people is sometimes more challenging than with others, as every story is different and some problems are more complex. If you find yourself unable to show patience and commitment enough, if you are egotistical to see the results too quickly, even though there is still much work to be done... You might quit too soon. In other words, if you give up before all the work is done, then it will not work…

Are you ready to follow my instruction and drop everything you know from other therapies?

 

You may have some knowledge or ideas about how to deal with the issue you're trying to deal with if you have participated in other therapies in the past or even currently. However, this can work against you. It is essential you come here free of all influences from anywhere else, and that you listen to me and what I ask you to do. Alternatively, you might create resentment by your own thoughts and ideas about what to do, then the process will not work... Your mind needs to be open to the Hypnotherapy process and leave everything behind.. 

How many sessions do I need?

It depends on the complexity of the issue, how deep it is implanted, how well the person responds to hypnosis and suggestions, and how compliant the person is.
In general, phobias would take between 1 - 3 sessions and more severe issues between 5 - 6 sessions, while addictions could take about about 6-8 sessions. We will discuss how many sessions are required after that phase. If any maintenance sessions are required, you can discuss them as well. To cement new positive emotions, it is important to have several sessions to reinforce and strengthen the work.

Misconceptions about Hypnotherapy

Despite its effectiveness, hypnotherapy is still considered controversial by many mental health professionals. Myths and misconceptions about hypnotherapy can affect how people view it as a therapeutic tool.
  • Hypnotherapy is often confused with stage hypnosis. Stage hypnotists are performers who are excellent at reading people. They seek extroverts who will put on a great show for the crowd. Whether or not their subjects are truly hypnotized is debatable, but they are willing to go along with the sometimes outrageous suggestions of the stage hypnotist.
  • Hypnotherapy does not erase your memory of what happened. During hypnosis, you will be aware of what is happening, you won't be asleep or unconscious, and you'll be able to break your hypnotic trance at any time.
  • Hypnotherapy doesn't make you lose control. You remain in control during the hypnotherapy. Even under hypnosis, no one can force you to do anything against your will. You will be tuned in to the work at hand, and so may not pay attention to your surroundings, but you will always be in charge of your own actions, behaviours, and statements.
  • Being hypnotizable doesn't mean you are less intelligent. Many people believe they can't be hypnotized, but research indicates that everyone can be hypnotized with average intelligence. Only about 10% of people are difficult or impossible to hypnotize.
